I have been telling John for a couple of months now how I wanted to go check out the Stuttgart City Library because it had made a couple of lists on being one of the world’s coolest libraries. There was really no excuse not to check it out – it’s a mere 9-minute U-bahn ride from our house, and I’ve been to the brand new mall right next to it on multiple occasions without going into the library. But, today, I sidetracked and saw first hand why it’s made the list of impressive libraries (see here and here and here).

These are the upper floors of the library, again with the stairwell and various rooms on the outside of this interior.

The library also offers an outside walkway on each level for great views of the city, as well as a rooftop terrace.
It was as cool as the all of the lists it made suggested…and a fun way to spend a laid-back afternoon!
